31 Jul The Chainsmokers leads the top of highest-paid DJs in 2019
Taylor Swift’s former love, Calvin Harris, lost the throne to The Chainsmokers in the race of the world’s highest-paid DJs in 2019.
Forbes has recently announced the top 10 highest-paid DJs in 2019. Leading the overall chart is The Chainsmokers with over $ 46 million (excluding tax). Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall have been working so hard at 2 bars XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas during the past 12 months. According to the US magazine, the contract of The Chainsmokers with the bars mentioned above will last until 2021.
Marshmello, a famous DJ wearing a barrel with a smiley face, pocketed $ 40 million and ranked second in the list. This is almost double the $ 21 million that he earned two years ago. He has currently signed a contract worth $ 60 million with nightclubs around Los Angeles for 2 years.
DJ Calvin Harris had been topping Forbes’ list from 2013 to 2018, however compared to his peers this year, he seems to earn a modest figure at just 38.5 million USD.
Ranking 4th on the list is DJ Steve Aoki who has participated in 200 shows throughout the year with $30 million. The EDM’s Asian guy also significantly became richer thanks to music sales and great advertising contracts from big brands.
With $25 million, the born-in-1978 DJ Diplo was ranked on the 5th spot.
Dutch DJ Tiesto, the owner of Black Hole Recordings followed closely with $24 million. Started playing music in 1994, Tiesto has a very attractive style and a pretty cheerful personality that are loved by a great number of fans from all over the world.
Holding the 7th spot is Martin Garrix-Tiesto’s junior with $19 million. The European DJ has achieved a lot of success in his career and been on top of DJ Mag magazine’s Top 100 DJ for many years.
$17 million is what David Guetta, age 51,earned in 2019. Despite being less popular than other DJs, Guetta has a very outstanding talent and achieved great success with his album “One Love” (2009) which includes hit singles like “When Love Takes Over”, “Gettin ‘Over You” and “Memories” that topped the music charts in the UK.
The Russian-German DJ Zedd has been producing electronic music since 2009 and mainly focusing on electro house music. However, he has recently been experimenting with new genres such as progressive house, dubstep,and classical music. With 17 million USD,Zedd is in 9th place of the list.
The last name in the top 10 is Armin Van Buuren. Known as “The King of trance music”, Buuren earned himself $15 million in 2019.
